Girls Who Code

What is Girls Who Code?

Girls Who Code is an international nonprofit organization working to close the gender gap in technology. Their programs inspire, educate, and equip girls with the computing skills they’ll need to pursue 21st-century opportunities. Girls Who Code values diversity, equity, and inclusion and, as an organization, focuses its work on gender diversity within the historically underrepresented in computer science fields.

Why Do We Support Their Mission?

AST has partnered with Girls Who Code because we too believe in the power of sisterhood and equipping girls and women with the skills, network, and encouragement they need to excel in life.

How Does Beta Upsilon Help?

We have both active sisters and alumnae who have been volunteered as Teaching Assistants in the Girls Who Code: Summer Immersion Program and Facilitators in their year-long Club programs on the NJIT campus. While our sisters have many different fields of study, we hope to serve as role models and financial supporters to clubs in our area and around the country.
